Health & Safety Guidance:
Under the Health & Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. Employers must provide adequate and appropriate facilities, equipment and personnel to ensure your employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
To determine whether your work place needs first aiders you will need to do a first aid needs assessment. If this indicates that first aid trainers are required; the appropriate level of training needed will be identified from the outcomes in your assessment. For example, Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day) or First Aid at Work (3 day)
Further information about carrying our a needs assessment and all other aspects of providing first aid at work can be found in the HSE’s guide to the regulations.
