1. Our responsibility to learners
We operate an equal opportunities policy to ensure that all of our customers and students are treated fairly and with respect. This is achieved by creating a training environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination, and by promoting dignity and respect for all, where individual differences and the contributions of all customers and staff are recognised and valued.
First Aid Bespoke Services Ltd is committed to providing equal opportunities for all learners to undertake its training courses and assessments in line with the Equality Act 2010 and all other applicable regulations and legislation (e.g. Qualification-specific requirements for regulated qualifications, HSE regulations and restrictions). When requested and if possible, we will make sure reasonable adjustments are made for learners with specific needs so they may undertake training and assessments on a fair and equitable basis with all other learners and where possible and appropriate we will take steps to differentiate in order to facilitate the learning process.
In relation to assessment outcomes, special consideration will be given to those who have experienced temporary injury, illness and/or health or well-being issues at the time of assessment. First Aid Bespoke Services Ltd, will also make sure all learners are given the opportunity to undertake training courses and assessments in an environment that is free of bullying, harassment, victimisation, unlawful discrimination and where dignity and respect for all is actively promoted.
2. Customers’ responsibilities
Customers must ensure that in all cases, attendees have a sufficient grasp of the English language in order to understand and participate in the training fully and to meet the oral and written assessment criteria. On our regulated courses e.g. Emergency First Aid at Work, we are unable to accommodate interpreters or signers because of regulatory restrictions. However, on our unregulated ‘public courses’, students are welcome to organise and use these services at their own expense.
In line with our equal opportunities responsibilities to customers, we will not accept any intentional or reckless discrimination, harassment, or rude and aggressive behaviour of any kind, against any person, including those considered to have protected characteristics under the equal opportunities act i.e. age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex (gender) and sexual orientation. Any person engaging in such behaviour may be asked to leave or refused access to the course and in such circumstances First Aid Bespoke Services Ltd reserves the right to inform the awarding body of the circumstances and to withhold certificates.
First Aid Bespoke Services Ltd will take seriously complaints of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination, by or from customers, the public and any others in the course of the company’s work activities. Where appropriate, such acts will be reported to the awarding body for the appropriate action to be taken and First Aid Bespoke Services Ltd will take all reasonable steps to resolve the matter between parties.
